Decorating your home in hues of blue & green.
Lighting
Lighting in a home is more important than we might realize. It sets the mood, enhances the decor and even affects our well-being. Lighting is a crucial element in creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your home. Choosing a fun and colourful table lamp is the perfect way to introduce a bit of colour to any room. The stunning table lamp pictured here is a mix of antique and modern style which can create a unique and eclectic look in your home. The plain white shade enhances the intricate detail in the base and embraces a contrast between old and new. If you are someone who wants to recycle a ‘boring’ lamp you may already have, for a more cost affective alternative, the Hinspo home team recommends swapping out the shade for one with a bold colour or pattern.
Soft furnishings
Incorporating bright hues into your decor can instantly liven up your space and add some character to your home. As a designer, I know the thought of using bright colours and patterns can be scary but layering different tones and patterns can add depth and visual interest. Introducing colour to your home with soft furnishings is the perfect way to do it without the massive commitment like painting walls and buying large scale pieces of furniture which could be expensive to change down the line if you want to redecorate. If you are starting from scratch I recommend buying a neutral toned couch/bed and pairing it with a colourful throw or cushions. It is proven that blue & green are among some of the colours that are known for having a relaxing affect in a home.
Accessories
If you are still with me at this point in the blog then I must have sparked some interest and creativity in you. Adding cushions and throws may seem like the most obvious way to instigate colour into your home but lets not forget even the smallest of accessories can achieve your goals. Accessories are like the icing on the cake when it comes to home decor and they can really showcase your personality, whether its a statement piece of wall art, a unique vase, coat hooks or a photo frame. A simple way to create a cohesive feel is to be consistent with the use of colour to connect the spaces.
Interior walls
Feeling adventurous and want a more permanent fixture? Why not opt to adding the colour to your walls! Heres what the team at Hinspo home suggests:
‘Gable’ wallpaper paired with ‘Wimborne White’.
The Gable wallpaper is described as playful, pastoral and utterly charming depicting a traditional village scene. It is a statement wallpaper with bespoke details taking on added character as you look at it. Wimborne white ties in perfectly with the detailing colour on the paper. Its small yellow tone makes it softer than an all white colour while still only being a shade away from it.
‘Crivelli Trellis’ wallpaper paired with ‘Cornforth White’
The Crevelli Trellis wallpaper is described as a pattern of wheat detailed lines cinched with crown motifs. Cornforth white is an understated neutral which is neither cool nor warm making it extremely versatile.
